Stoner Food Elevated

Take a moment and think of stoner food. Ready? Go.
I’m not a betting man but I’d be willing to put money on some of the images that came to mind; microwave burritos, off-brand chips, candy in neon packaging. These typical ‘munchies’ can be great but I, for one, get frustrated with the conversation stopping there. Some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten I’ve eaten high and the weed, like a fine wine, elevated the experience. With that in mind I’d like to talk about some of my favorite non-traditional munchies to elevate your next toke.
SODA WATER: mouth heaven.
Weed makes you more sensitive to what goes in your mouth but that doesn’t just mean flavor. Your stoned self becomes far more aware of texture and mouthfeel, which makes soda water a fizzy delight! Quite literally tickle your tongue with tiny carbonated bubbles while you drink your daily H2O, and for an added bit of fun, buy several different brands to see whose bubbles you like best.
ETHIOPIAN: Cornucopia of flavors.
If you’re lucky enough to live in a city with a decent sized Ethiopian population and you haven’t treated yourself to a full plater of spiced veggies on spongey injera bread, change that immediately, and light up before you go. The variety of different flavors in a single meal would make a stone sober man’s head spin, so if you tuck in stoned it will feel like a flavor roller coaster.
TEA: ‘High’ Class.
Tea is a stoner consumable of the highest order, both for flavor and ‘vibe’. Each varietal of tea comes with tasting notes and terrapins as complex as wine and weed. Next time you get high on an easy afternoon, chose a new type of tea and take your time with it, tasting how the notes change with each steep.
